Volens Lawyers: A New Chapter in Legal Identity

Reimagining the brand identity for a respected law firm in the Maldives.

Volens Lawyers, an established firm, required a comprehensive brand refresh to align its visual identity with its contemporary practice and stand out against competing firms. The existing logo was outdated and structurally complex, which limited its effective use across modern digital and print applications, particularly when used as a seal. The challenge was to modernize the brand while honoring its established legacy. Our proposal drew inspiration from the very foundation of the legal profession: law books. The new logo concept deconstructs the old, literal imagery into a clean, intelligent, and symbolic mark. The refreshed identity is built around a stylized monogram of the firm's initials, 'V' and 'L'. The genius of the mark lies in its construction, with the letterforms created by the negative space and outlines of books on a shelf. This approach pays homage to legal tradition and the original logo's structure but presents it in a sophisticated, minimalist form. The result is a balanced, versatile, and timeless identity that positions Volens Lawyers as a forward-thinking firm deeply rooted in legal expertise.
